What’s really getting my goat right now is Kerry and all the Kerryites are cramming his service down our throats ( we MUST remember he was a war hero! ), while at the same time expecting everyone to forget what he did immediately following his service ( trashing everyone that was still stuck over there ). The things he said and did post-service IMO probably put a lot soldiers at risk. At the very least, it poisoned civilian attitudes against Vietnam War veterans when they returned for a long, long time. My cousin got more medals than Kerry did, and he was so ashamed the way he was treated when he returned home he refused to even admit he had ever been over there. That stunk. He didn’t come back with PTSD, he didn’t get shot, he didn’t even get wounded. His unit was pretty ruthless and efficient. He had a lot to be proud of as a soldier, but the Kerry’s and Fonda’s assured that he would be treated like a dog if he ever mentioned what he did in Vietnam. He’s never told me anything about his being over there, his mother showed me pictures with him wearing the medals, no one knows what happened to them. IMO, my cousin is the true war hero, Kerry tossed that honor into a river. It is totally irrelevent in that perspective to me what Bush did or did not do during that time frame. The one thing he did not do ever, was embarass those who were still getting shot at, my cousin being one of them.

If Kerry wants to brag on the Vietnam War, then he needs to own up to all he did during the entire war, not pick and choose one tiny little time frame that he wants.
