Soros the Drug Kingpin, pt. 3

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3

Well, the anti-Bushers are making as big a deal as they can lambasting Hastert for “insinuating” that Soros deals with “drug groups”. Hastert didn’t insinuate anything, he stated it clearly and hasn’t backed down from it.

I agree with Hastert, obviously. I have had family and close friends die from drug abuse, and have recently dealt with a drug addiction. I have never met a person that decided to be a drug addict. Society gains absolutely nothing from the ramifications of drug abuse. Nothing at all. Sure, some artists may have been a little more creative musically while stoned, but most either performed better sober, are dead, or will be soon if they don’t get some help. The ramifications of drug abuse is that we have lost a lot more musically than we have gained.

Hastert called Soros’s connections “drug groups”. He was perfect in his adjective. The Drug Policy Alliance, Lindesmith, Open Society Institute, and the Soros Foundation, want to enable anyone that wants drugs to be able to buy them. What is the difference between that and the “the drug cartel”?

What stung Soros so bad is that Hastert tied the two concepts together very succinctly and easily understandable. Soros is tying to take a more introspective angle in that the Drug War is failing. Every single time someone dies or hurts someone else because of drugs, the Drug War has failed in that one battle. That in no way indicates the Drug War itself is a failure. Soros has fought battles before, he knows this. He has other interests in this fight, I want to know what they are. And the way he over-reacted to Hastert, my bet is Hastert is more right than wrong.
