The Shrum Curse
Posted by Moonage on 14 Sep 2004 | Tagged as: 2004 Presidential Election
I find this fascinating. Robert Shrum has written some of the best political speeches of the 20th century. However, he is better known for his "Shrum Curse". Here’s a synopsis:
1972 - Worked for John Lindsay for President, he lost in the primary
1972 - Worked for Ed Muskie for President, he lost in the primary as well
1972 - Worked for George McGovern, he got creamed in the all-time biggest landslide
1976 - Quit the Carter campaign, Carter won.
1980 - Advised Ted Kennedy’s failed presidential bid
1984 - Worked for Walter Mondale, he lost in the general.
1988 - Worked for Michael Dukakis presidential campaign, he lost.
1992 - Clinton had nothing to do with Shrum
1996 - Clinton had nothing to do with Shrum
2000 - Worked for Al Gore’s presidential campaign, he lost.
2004 - Is pretty much running John Kerry’s presidential campaign. ( He lost )
Anyone see a trend here?

Well, being as I’m currently betting the bank that Hillary will run, she won’t have anything to do with Shrum.

The Today Show considers Bob Shrum an expert?
I read this on RealClearPolitics:This morning on The Today show, Bob Shrum offered some advice to help President Bush rebound from his slump in the polls. If Shrum was trying to be serious, he continues to demonstrate he still has
