The Democrat Party and Modern Media
Posted by Moonage on 22 Sep 2004 | Tagged as: Opinions, The Media
There was a time not long ago when what the media said was just taken for granted and there was no other avenue outside talk radio to question it. The internet has shattered that glass house and the media hasn’t figured out how to adjust. The only way they know to respond is to attack the messengers. Being as the media has been extremely liberal for at least my adult lifetime, the Democrats enjoyed a free ride courtesy the media. Now that the internet has enabled anyone to voice their opinion, and has supported the rise of the Drudges and media outlets outside the traditional medium, the Democrats aren’t used to being attacked by media and are desperately grasping at straws trying to figure how to deal with it. And are doing a poor job figuring out. The days of the Democrats not having to concern themselves with being questioned by the media are over. IMO, that is the core root of all the ugliness we’ve seen this time. Sheer frustration of the internet by the Democrats. The Dan Rather fiasco was just the bonfire that made the entire world aware of just how misled they’ve been for a generation.

Moon - Check out Terry McAuiliffe’s use of the specific word ’sugarcoated’ describing Bush’s “evasion” of service in the Guard. THE MORNING BEFORE CBS’s “report” aired. He obviously had access to the memos beforehand. Whether he got them from Lockhart or CBS - clearly the campaign was coordinating with the erstwhile news organization.
