UN Sex Abuse Scandal

The United Nations is investigating about 150 allegations of sexual abuse by U.N. civilian staff and soldiers in the Congo, some of them recorded on videotape, a senior U.N. official said on Monday.

The accusations include pedophilia, rape and prostitution, said Jane Holl Lute, an assistant secretary-general in the peacekeeping department.

As I have pointed out as often as I possibly can, the United Nations is now a waste of resources.  About every issue they’re involved in is racked with scandal.  They chose to protect Saddam Hussein regardless of all the evidence of atrocities, the Oil-for-food program has been a funding source for terrorists, they heavily criticized the US over Abu Ghraib while apparently doing nothing over their own abuses.  They bailed out of Ivory Coast and allowed French soldiers to massacre civilians.

I can point out a whole laundry list of reasons to get rid of the UN, especially in regards to military actions.  Can anyone give me a good reason to keep them?
