Friedrick Hayek

Greg Ransom of Prestopundit opines:
My point here is that academics have had every opportunity to engage the intellectual world of the non-left on their own turf — in the domain of ideas — and they have repeatedly declined to do so.
Now, I’m pretty conservative, and, I’m definitely Republican. I also tend to follow politics probably closer than the average yokel. However, I have never heard of Friedrick Hayek. I majored in psychology for a while, so I may have stumbled across his name, but in regards to politics? Never. It doesn’t take a philosopher to explain Conservative values. Try reading some more accessible authors such as Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. They pretty well explain the core values that have led the left2right shift for a while.
And, as I have stated in a preceding post, it has nothing to do with any single philosophy.
