Russia Iran Nuclear Deal
Posted by Moonage on 27 Feb 2005 | Tagged as: Iran
Now I know Iran and Russia have been economic partners for some time. And, I know the Iranians have a lot of cash to spend that Russia desperately needs. But, I can’t help but wonder what Russia’s plans for keeping the Middle East stable are. I mean, these nukes the US are protesting are in Russia’s back yard, not ours. Iran has been loathe to totally open up their nuclear program to the UN, so how does Russia know they will be safe in the future? Nuclear proliferation has exploded since communism collapsed. Do the Russians truly think everyone will look the other way at them if a major world conflict arises? I’m stumped. I know cash rules, but usually people have enough sense to not sell someone a gun to someone aiming at you.

Russia Iran Nuclear Deal
Iran is the second largest oil producer in the world. Why in Gods green earth would they pay for nuclear energy when they have more than they need for free?
The simple answer is they have other ambitions. Remember North Korea? They just wanted to build a power plant. Now we have to deal with this madman militarily.
The Mullahs that run the country aren’t exactly stable folks. The good news is that over 80% of the population are Shiia (hope I spelled that right). Those are the same folks who got to vote in Iraq. No doubt they will want the same.
As for Russia, I hope they got paid up front. President George Bush made it very clear Iran would never have nuclear capabilities.
Europe is broke and toothless with the only exceptions being UK & Poland. Those guys will fight when needed.
Iran should spend their money building schools because they have no conception of geography. Afghanistan is on their eastern border and Iraq is on their western border. They are already surrounded. What are they thinking? The nuclear facilities that the Russians are building will be bombed back to the stone age.
My President is a redneck, he says what he means, means what he says and then does what he says. He clearly stated Iran will never have nuclear capability period. What part of no don’t they understand?
Hopefully most people in Iran will decide they can run their country better than the lunatics that are in power now and demand democratic reform. Funny how freedom works.
