All Abu Ghraib, All The Time

Ever feel like you’re reading the same stories over and over?  Doss at Little Green Footballs did as well.  Doss documented that the Abu Ghraib abuse story has run 34 consecutive days on the cover of the New York Times.

Anyone know what the record is for consecutive covers on the NY Times?

Anyone know why this story is so important to them?

    I have two points:

    1) in the days following the outing of Mark Felt as “Deep Throat” everyone, not just the NY Times, is looking for someone new to come forward and “whistleblow.”

    2) I’ve just checked the New York City and National edition front pages of today’s NY Times, and I don’t think I see a story about Abu Ghraib.

I’m going to guess “Doss” noticed that as well and went back to see the last time it wasn’t on the cover. I don’t read it, so I have no clue how accurate he is.
