Politically Correct Lynching

The nonbinding measure apologizes for this failure and expresses "most solemn regrets of the Senate to the descendants of victims of lynching."
I just think these legislative efforts are stupid political correctness. If lynching is still legal, then what is the result of those people who died? Saying you’re sorry for lynching don’t cut it. Put some heart and effort behind it. Make it a crime punishable by death. If someone lost something due to a lynching, make restitution. Make someone suffer for the crime they committed. Make them personally responsible. Make it real.
The one thing I do like about the legislation is that it notes lynchings were documented in 46 states. The modern image that it was purely a Southern white male thing needs to be addressed a lot more.
