When Rehnquist Retires?

DJ Drummond over at polipundit asks three questions:
- Who should replace Rehnquist?
- Who will replace Rehnquist?
- 3. If W picks a nominee with a clear track record of Intelligence and Sound Judgment to replace Rehnquist (that is, a known Conservative), how will this affect the Borkfest the Dems have begun against Roberts?
Those are questions everyone’s tossing around right now. My opinion is Rehnquist has no desire to ever retire. But the seat will become vacant before too long anyway. Because of that less than civilized opinion of the situation, I have not felt comfortable speculating who his replacement will be. I would prefer to do it after the fact. However, in honor of linking to polipundit, I will only offer that I think it will be a conservative female.
However, DJ decided to leave comments open and I think has gotten a truly intelligent and interesting series of comments. I love a blog where the contributions often are more valuable than the post itself. DJ is great at leading questions and getting good replies because of it. Be sure to read this entire thread. I’m quite certain the next Supreme Court justice is mentioned.
