Securing the Syrian Border

From Bill Roggio:
The Iraqi government has instituted a curfew and closed the border crossing in the town of Rabiah, which is directly West of Tal Afar, the city where the Coalition has initiated an assualt. "The decree closed the border to all transportation, including the railroad, except for vehicles with special permission from the Interior Ministry." The border is being sealed tight to prevent al Qaeda reinforcements from streaming in, as well as to close the door on any terrorists that slip the cordon around Tal Afar.
And:
I really haven’t commented much on Iraq lately because I really didn’t think anything particularly chatworthy was occurring. As long as the Syrian border was wide open, the insurgents could just go into Syria, load up, and stroll right into Iraq to bomb the locale of their choice. IMO, this is the first significant campaign in a while that could actually change the future of Iraq and get our people out of there. Syria is not exclusive, but from what I’ve been reading, it’s the worst. Once Iraq actually secures their border, I think things will calm down pretty quick. I am willing to put a wager on that I am so sure of it.
