I pointed out in another post that the debate over how to deal with the
flooding in New Orleans dates back to around 1882:

http://moonagewebdream.blogs.com/moonage_political_webream/2005/09/whos_to_blame_f.html
Understanding that, I sometimes take it for granted that everyone understands
how inane that accusation is. Once anyone understands the inanity of the
accusation, then race or economic situation becomes moot.
Why are people blaming Bush,Sr. and Bush,Jr. for the levee construction?Bill Clinton was president between these two men.If Bill Clinton was so concerned about economically, disadvantaged people why did he not initiate and complete construction on the levee system. We do not blame anyone but attribute Hurricane Katrina as a natural disaster, but we can point fingers too.In our town the local government, the state government and then the Federal government take charge. If the mayor and governor knew a disaster this huge was going to take place why did they not put money into correcting the problem along with making known the plight of the people who lived there? The churches certainly moved rapidly to aid New Orleans. We are a poor community in Newport,Tennessee and we might add "white".We have always felt the North was biased against the South and definitely the news media is prejudiced against George Bush.
