Moonage Political Webdream

I made a post not long ago criticizing the media for describing a lifelong activist as a "novice".  Apparently the lifeling activist took it the wrong way. Since it’s about me, I think I have the right to reproduce it all:

I am a free Person. I have been aware of this fact ever since I was a teenage "outsider". I do not belong to anyone but myself, unlike some others I could suggest.

The only "group" I "belong" to is Democracy for America. I always maintain the right to walk away from anything around me, when I choose. People know this about me.

I am not a member of ANSWER nor am I a member of UFPJ. I like to work with Quakers, but I am not a member of the AFSC. I was raised Conservative Catholic, Labor Family, which I was raised to treat as though it is the center of my universe. I have two successful adult children. I used to teach high school. I’m a Sprint (technical writer in Broadband software development) layoff.

I don’t go to "church" anymore, because I stand on street corners with a few hundred other people here in K.C. who make and hold their own signs. Traffic loves us.

If I have a "church" right now, it would be one without any walls.

I have spoken for myself my entire life, so I’m not ready to let a bunch of Racist Moonie thugs speak for "me". Especially since they are so wrong!

I would like them to direct their comments to me. But I’m sure they won’t, because they’re really such Lying Cowards.

OK, Patrice, I’m directing my comments directly to you.  I don’t feel like joing Democrat Underground, so I’ll have to do it here.   For an activist, you’re incredibly thin-skinned and shallow.  The point of the original post was not criticizing you, it was criticizing the inaccurate description of "novice" that leads one to believe that you had never taken an interest in any type of protest before now.  That, is misleading.  That, is lying.  There is nothing in my post that gives any support for your "Lying Cowards" description.  There is nothing that classifies me as a bully in any shape, form, or fashion.  You owe me an apology.  Do I think you’re man enough to do it?  Not in a billion years.  Go ahead.  Make my day.  Prove me wrong.

And, you are the absolute perfect example of why radical protest groups never grow beyond their very small core groups of people.  Any small perceived affront and you guys go flying off the deep end.

I will thank you for providing the best laugh I’ve had here in quite a while.

And, for the follow-up in your thread, no one sponsors this blog.  It is mine and mine alone.  I do it purely because I enjoy it.  It is me speaking for myself.  You have to appreciate that.
