The Bush Wiretap apology
Posted by Moonage on 17 Dec 2005 | Tagged as: National Politics
Scrappleface is one of my favorite political sites. They take headlines and mix stuff up and come up with what really should have happened. I loved today’s headline so much I have to steal some of it:
I want to apologize for allowing the NSA to do these wiretaps after 9/11, the president said. Im sorry that I violated the privacy of some of these folks after terrorists launched attacks from our soil that killed 3,000 people, destroyed two skyscrapers and four jumbo jets, and punched a gaping hole in our military headquarters.
My biggest regret, the president added, is that the NSA didnt secretly tap these lines before 9/11. I hope my fellow Americans can forgive me.
Damn perfect.

On the surface it looks like Bush did something wrong but I believe he was within the law and just doing his job… upcoming investigations will prove it or not. I have no trouble with what he did concerning wiretaps after 911. The problems started later.
Glad your site is back.

I’m glad it’s back as well. Pretty hairy couple of days. Every time Typepad screws up this bad they give me a free month. The rate it’s going, I may not have to pay until Spring.

For whatever its worth, I’d give them a chance to fix their problems. If CT Blog is on typepad too, as they are, I’d stick with it. Just my opinion.
Hey Space! Have you seen what Moon gave me? I am having such a great time with it!

The problem I have is laziness. Typepad is very easy to use compared to most considering the html power they give you. Others do more things, but are more cumbersome to use. Looks like I’ll be hanging out here for a while. But, if this mess happens again, I’ll probably be giving wordpress a try.
