bullshit protector

Posted by Moonage on 13 Feb 2006 | Tagged as: Humor

Sent to me by a friend via email:

Bill Moyer, 73, wears a “Bullshit Protector” flap over his ear while Senator Ted Kennedy addresses the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Now, I haven’t done extensive research into whether this email is legit or not. But, being as it’s commonly referenced on the net as real, I’ll buy it that it is. What’s more, there is nothing terribly unusual about this pic as ANYONE can have a BS protector, deflector, or whatever by going to http://www.wiseass.org/bullshit.html and downloading the very simple PDF illustration so you can cut out and make your own.

Being as this thing easily cuts all political ways, I’ve filed this under humor.

Ever hear of Snopes.com? They are a clearinghouse for confirming or refuting urban myths and internet email stories.

This story has been covered there since October 2005

The picture is real, as is the identity of 73 year old Bill Moyers. But he was not listening to Ted Kennedy. This picture was taken on August 22, 2005 as George W. Bush addressed the VFW’s 106th convention, held in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This email is just a pathetic attempt to shift an embarrassing story away from Bu$h and onto a convenient Democratic punching bag.

Ever hear of keeping something in context? I didn’t quote this under urban legends or conspiracy theories, I posted it under HUMOR. As I state CLEARLY, I don’t care who the speaker was. So, therefore, I never cared to check the context. I thought the BS protector was FUNNY. Get it? The post is about the ear flap, not the speaker. I just quoted the email because that’s where I got the pic from. The ear flap is real. Snopes confirms that. The rest I could care less then, and even less now. Thank you for pointing out the true story behind the BS protector. However, as is obvious, the BS protector doesn’t work worth a flip since all your rhetoric flew right by it.
