The need to state something is fiction……

“Well, I’ve often thought the Bible should have a disclaimer in the front saying this is fiction. I mean, walking on water, it takes an act of faith. And I have faith in this movie. Not that it’s true, not that it’s factual, but that it’s a jolly good story. And I think audiences are clever enough and bright enough to separate out fact and fiction, and discuss the thing after they’ve seen it.” — Ian McKellen
Well, he could have done worse and attacked, let’s say, Metallica or something. But, I do like his point, even if it’s grossly wrong. The world has been ripped apart for centuries due to the one simple fact that mankind can not separate out fact and fiction and discuss the thing after they’ve seen it. They’ll take fiction, believe it’s fact, and kill anyone that disagrees with them. So, he should be happy the world has gotten to the point where all they want to do now is stick a label on it. Most people, after all, will look past the label and discuss the thing after they’ve seen it.
