Pelosi’s culture of corruption is apparently “ill thought out”

Nancy Pelosi pretty much rode her rise to the top by lambasting any Republican questionable actions while pretty much ignoring everything Democrat. So, one of the first things the House did was pass an ethics rule requiring disclosure of earmarks. A pretty good idea if you ask me. But, my experience has been both parties have benefited equally from earmarks and it would die somewhere along the vine. Well, someone tried real hard. In the Senate, Jim DeMint, a Republican, introduced the same rules for the Senate. Now, in the Senate, members control a lot more money than they do in Congress, since there’s a lot fewer Senators for one. So, who do you suppose would squash open reporting of earmarks in the Senate? Why, Harry Reid of course, a fairly prominent Democrat. His logic? Get this, "frankly, I don€™t think they spent the time on this that we have."
Fortunately, the rest of the lawmakers didn’t go along with Reid’s suggestion and passed it anyway, 51 to 46. The Democrats voted against open earmarks 38 to 10. The Republicans voted for open earmarks 41 to 7.
Whatsayou Nancy?
