Discount mats

I heard about this one floating around the internet a couple of days ago. I figured it was just another one of those bogus over-the-top emails. I was apparently wrong:
“Do you ship to APO (military) addresses? I’m in the 1st Cavalry Division stationed in Iraq and we are trying to order some mats but we are looking for ships to APO first.”
On the same day, Hess received this reply:
“SGT Hess,
We do not ship to APO addresses, and even if we did, we would NEVER ship to Iraq. If you were sensible, you and your troops would pull out of Iraq.

Once “outed”, discount mats supposedly fired the employee who wrote the email. And, at this time, this is the response you get if you visit their website:
Sgt. Hess eventually goes the way of what makes the US great, he buys two cots somewhere else. The only thing Discount Mats apparently got was a major headache and lost sales. That’s what they deserve for hiring a butthead to work in sales.

Thanks for the info Mikey. I did modify it slightly as I don’t usually post personal info unless it’s absolutely necessary. Obviously from my post and your follow-up, he’s taking a hit. That’s really all I want. If someone took it too far and stalked them at home, that affects his wife and possibly kids. They’re innocent in all this and I’d prefer to keep them out it all. Regardless of how contemptable the father is.

I’m gonna post an update that I’m not seeing anywhere in the media. Notably, discount-mats.com’s comment on the situation:
