Nah, this isn’t going to be your typical illegal alien rant. This is much more important:

Miss Rachel SmithBooed mercilessly at the Miss Universe pageant by a Mexican audience angry at U.S. immigration policy, and seen by millions of TV viewers as she slipped and fell on the pageant stage, Miss USA Rachel Smith nonetheless managed to take the high road and offer her Spanish-speaking hosts an enthusiastic, “Buenas noches Mexico. Muchas gracias!”

The Don attributed their rude behavior to protest of US immigration policies. However, that doesn’t condone them attacking an innocent person, and they know that. So, it was just plain rude and totally inappropriate. I think an apology from whoever it is that is the Mexican presidente would be greatly appreciated by those of us IN the United States propping up his economy by employing those workers who apparently can’t get a job there. If he wishes for us to continue doing so, he better start giving us reasons to LIKE Mexico and a few less reasons to NOT like Mexico. The reason the immigration policy is so popular here and so unpopular there is it keeps the thugs, drugs, and criminals THERE and not HERE. That’s not Rachel Smith’s fault, it’s theirs.

File this one under jerks of the day as well.

Please, we boo, laugh at and ridicule people all the time in the US. Doesn’t matter who it is or where, Americans are the rudest and most self absorbed people on the planet. And you want the Mexican “presidente” to issue an apology? Get real.

Not to mention, YOUR opinion of the immigration policy and how it keeps out the “thugs, drugs and criminals” is just laughable.

    Kill yourself.

Hate Filled Mexicans Boo Miss USA Rachel Smith At Miss Universe Pageant…

The Mexican people have a long standing hatred towards America it seems. No I’m not talking about the Mexican government, I’m talking about the Mexican people. These are everyday Mexicans. “Your comment is misplaced” you may say “they are booing…..

  3. rob on 05.29.2007

deleted my comment because you didnt agree? you’re probably from the south too no doubt.

  4. Moonage on 05.29.2007

Sound like quite the intellect there Rob.

A: I didn’t delete anything, the comments are moderated because a lot of people can’t put together a coherent thought without using profanity. Secondly, I get about 10 spams for every legit comment.

B: Have you read ANYTHING about what’s going on on the Mexican border? Anything? Those aren’t saints and doctors killing our people down there.

C: A huge majority of the illegal drugs coming into the US are run through the Mexican border. I stand by my comment. And, I’ll do it without resorting to exact attitude I’m complaining about. The world needs a lot less hate and a lot more civility. I can see why you see nothing wrong with what they did. However, the pageant moderators even told the audience to be more respectful. Those acting inappropriately apparently refused to respect even the people hosting the event.

And yeah, I’m from the South. Damn proud of it too. I really don’t care where your from. You apparently rely too much on stereotypes. I don’t. I judge each individual on their own merits. Where they live only is only important in regards to their perspective on the event occurring where they live. If you don’t live in the South, this isn’t an issue you really have any concern with. Sure, you can spout your opinions, but they are meaningless in the big picture. Those people living in the area affected by the thugs and drug runners on the border are the only ones who’s opinions should matter. Unfortunately, their opinions are the ones being totally ignored right now.

Wanna see a LOT more on this issue before embarassing yourself more than you have already?

  5. rob on 05.30.2007

Ironic that “they” are killing our border patrols yet WE have supplied the majority of the guns they have already.

Wrong again, the HUGE majority of drugs coming into our country is not coming from Mexico. It is coming from Colombia and Peru.

    ( Deleted trash )

  6. Moonage on 05.30.2007

I don’t have a clue what you’re referring to in regards to “we”, Columbia, and Peru. However, everyone in this country has a right to bear arms. That doesn’t guarantee the right to break the law.

As far as the Kentucky comment goes, it was deleted because it had nothing to do with the issue and makes you look awful. It is irrelevant where I’m from, a lot of people all over this country agree with me and that is why we have the border issue that the Mexicans apparently hate so much. If they took care of their people causing “we” the problems, there would be no border issue. There are a lot of Mexicans living and working in my community, they are here legally and contributing to my community. Those aren’t the ones we’re trying to keep out and those Mexicans who felt compelled to boo Rachel know that. They just don’t want to deal with the problem but reserve the right to “protest” when “we” do.

Hey Rob! You haven’t got a clue. Not one clue. Aside from the fact that you come onto Moon’s blog and insult him, you haven’t got a clue!

You want to read some really negative stuff about Mexico and immigration? Go read my page. See what you think then.

there are almost 90 posts written about our problem with the Mexican border, immigration and the drug problem. And oh, about the drug problem…you haven’t got a clue! While the HUGE majority of the drugs coming into this country may originate in Columbia and Peru, they absolutely come through Mexico. And when it comes to the violence in Mexico and on our border, have you ever heard of the Zetas? I’ll bet not.

And oh! I live in South Texas, but 16 months ago I lived in the New York Metro area, so stop insulting the South!

Hey moonage, Hails from the north. I disagree that my location distances me from the immigration issue. (I think that’s what you meant) Admittedly I can’t see them coming across, but the mexican population seems to magically appear in ever greater numbers each and every month up here in beantown (oops, I mean boston. no slur intended.) the blind-by-choice liberals up here cannot be reasoned with. thanks for your level headed perspective.

And Rob…WE Americans, in my experience, are some of the most generous, kind and helpful people on the planet. Let’s not forget that most of the poverty in the world is caused:
a.)by the tyrannic leaders of the countries with some of the richest resources (alla Chavez) and:
b.) by the apathy of the populations of those countries whom would rather blame someone else (U.S. principly) than to take responsibililty for finding and working their own solutions.
I find it absurdly ironic that the population of a country that hates the U.S. so much tends to swarm our streets in the hope that they can improve their own lot by bringing here the mentality that causes the problems they’re running from in the first place. Isn’t that a form of insanity?
You know Rob, you sound like you want us (readers) to believe you are a world traveller but really don’t know much about whom you are speaking. If you do travel the world, perhaps it would be good for you to pay attention to the people you meet along the way, instead of being shy or afraid of them.
Case in point: I’ve been to texas, georgia, so. Carolina, Tenn, amongst other southern states. Nowhere did I find someone that really sounds like the “Cars” character “Mater”. great cartoon but…just a cartoon.

Heya David. I didn’t mean to imply it distances you from the immigration issue, I meant to imply it distances us from the border security issue. We’re not the ones getting shot at by people trying to run drugs and stuff into the US. Immigrants come from everywhere, that’s one specific issue to deal with. The border security is the issue that seperates Mexico from everyone else. They don’t have a problem people immigrating to the US, they have a problem with us securing our border.

  11. Stormwarning on 06.02.2007

But, being that I’m now under 200 miles from said border…the issue is more real than ever. As you know, I’ve done a lengthy series of posts about the Mexican border and immigration on my side here (well almost here, but over there ==>).

The interesting things is that the Mexicans truly try to enforce their southern border.

  12. David Vigliotti on 06.10.2007

Moonage, Agreed..border security is a mere dream to most up here. Hence the problem. This situation might be better served if D.C. were along the border. What’re the reps from those districts saying in congress? It must be good, since the Immigration ruse was stomped. I am truly disappointed in the presidents capitulation on this issue. Either He has got to be listening to the wrong folks or I am WAY off base with this. It seems to me that instead of rewriting laws we don’t enforce, it would save time and expense to enforce the laws we’ve already written. This way people would see the government like they see governor giuliani. Instead of the way they see senator Kennedy.
    (sorry for that visual.)

  13. Moonage on 06.10.2007

I agree with every single word you just said. I pretty much ignored the entire “shamnesty” debate for a couple of reasons. One, I was moving and pretty busy. Second, it was completely meaningless to me. Until we enforce the laws that already prevent people from pouring over the border, what point does it make to pass more laws? Since they’re here and working pretty much at will, what point is amnesty? If we’re not going to protect the border, what point is making it a one time deal? We either need to just ditch the laws that make them illegal, or enforce those laws with conviction and address the issues that causes. Continuously bantering the issue around in DC is obviously not resolving any issue at all.
