Talk about a no-win election

I really don’t get too terribly involved in local elections outside of my region, but this one should be fun to watch if it materializes:

Cindy Sheehan, the soldier’s mother who galvanized the anti-war movement, said Sunday that she plans to seek House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s congressional seat unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.

Now, in my opinion, but not the terribly most popular opinion, I think Pelosi has squandered a lot oppurnity by focusing too much on Bush and not enough on tangible legislation that could get things done. However, this is California we’re talking about and they don’t think quite the same as the rest of the country, much less my neck of the woods. So, this intangible by Sheehan might just garner some attention there. However, before anyone gets too terribly excited, Sheehan has pulled this stunt before. That time it went nowhere, as I expect this one to do as well. Michelle Maulkin seems to disagree tho.

Nancy Pelosi is my Congresswoman. She is wildly popular. Sheehan will be no factor whatsoever. The only people who take Sheehan seriously now is the right wing, because she makes such an easy target.

You are right, Malkin is wrong. Its going nowhere except as entertainment for Sean Hannity.

Trust me, I seriously doubt the Right Wing ever took Sheehan seriously. However, you got it right on the last part, she was great entertainment. That’s all.
