Democrats not satisfied with their slate?

For the past few months, we’ve heard over and over how Republicans are not satisfied with their slate of candidates.  That supposedly was the basis of the Fred Thompson push.  Even today CBS is running such a story that predicts a Democrat win in nineteen months because Democrats like their candidates and Republicans don’t.  So, it kinda amuses me to see a headline like this:

Gore backers lead movement without candidate
Draft effort fueled by dissatisfaction with present candidates

CBS says Democrats are perfectly happy with what they’ve got.  MSNBC says they’re not.

My take on it?  In every single election on a national level you’re going to have X number of people who don’t like anyone that IS running.  Al Gore represents a certain segment of the population that feels his global warming stuff is sincere and therefore would address it as President.  So, they want him to run.  His history of inaction while in office and ability to screw up a guaranteed win is irrelevent.  They don’t like what they’ve got as candidates now.

My additional take?  Most of them wouldn’t like him either if he ran.  Some people just like to bitch and moan a lot.
