Another dead rocker - Kevin Dubrow

Kevin Dubrow of Quiot Riot overdosed on cocaine a couple of weeks ago. He’s dead at 52. Now, according to some, 52 is old. In my book, 52 is when you’ve realized your mistakes in life and adjust for a happier and more content period of life. However, addictions don’t allow that. Just ask Kevin. Now, unlike Kevin, I’ll be partying and rocking for a few more years. I’m remaking Maggie May right now. Granted it won’t be a major hit or anything, fiddling with music thrills me and gives me an up, a small rush. And, oddly enough, I can do all that without drugs. It’s not hard. And, since I’ll be alive to enjoy it, it’s gotta be more rewarding than being dead.
How many more dead rockers do we need to send a message to kids today that drugs just make you dead? All the money in the world poured into the war on the drugs is meaningless so long as pop icons keep glorifying drugs and media keeps underplaying the results of it. For example:
MTV makes a lot more about how great he was than what killed him. That’s just wrong. Maybe if MTV and the others concerned themselves about keeping their viewers alive instead of worrying themselves sick over the cool factor, they wouldn’t be such the non-entity they’ve become.
