Democrat convention, day 1

Now, I’m gonna state right-out that I’m not watching the Democrat convention. Now, before people get too long-winded here, I most likely won’t watch the Republican convention either. There’s just not really much point in either this year, as most years. However, what I do like to watch is the reaction to the convention. After day one at the Democrat convention, two things stuck out:
CNN, which is usually more favorable ( read horribly biased ) toward the Democrat Party, had these two headline opinions running together:
OK, now, some people think you have to dig real deep to get the meaning of any article. But, my experience, in the real world, is the opposite. People form an opinion based on their initial reaction, then either reinforce or debunk that reaction by reading, or watching, the article. If they choose not to, they are left with the initial opinion. That, I think, is the biggest problem the US faces politically. The media knows this, and the people in general don’t care enough to dig deeper.
In this case, the impression is the only person who thinks Michelle Obama did good was her daughter. That’s very sad. And, the only person important enough to merit an opinion on the front page of CNN, the “Ferris Bueller actor”, is unimpressed.
The reality is a lot of people think Michelle performed to expectations. The reality is the “Ferris Bueller actor” has a long history being a member of the Republican Party.
Not to worry though, because of the third opinion given much lower on the CNN page:
How do you rate Michelle Obama’s convention speech?
Thumbs up_____ 33% 5918 Thumbs down___ 12% 2192 Didn’t watch it__ 55% 10047 Total Votes: 18157
Guess I’m not alone.
However, the intent of this post is to point out that it seems odd to me that CNN would subtly be trashing Obama during his coronation. That leads to one of several conclusions:
- The never got over losing Hillary Clinton.
- They’re desperate to create five word blubs to fit their headline into neat little columns which leads to no ability to elaborate what the story actually means.
- They’re just sloppy.
Frankly, in this case, I think it’s all the above.

I don’t watch it either, not on TV at least… I watched Day 1 on Fox News Internet TV.

During the active times, there are like 5 feeds available here and the commentary is much more candid/raw. I had 3 of them open last night and it was quite humorous listening to Shep Smith during/after the Michelle Obama speech.
