I never said he was imprisoned or arrested. I said he was abridged. As usual, I’ll do the work no one else ever wants to do in the 21st century. Per dictionary.com:
“to reduce or lessen in duration, scope, authority, etc.; diminish; curtail: to abridge a visit; to abridge one’s freedom.”

By using the authority of Congress, they purposely diminished the authority of Joe Wilson’s comment as an individual Congressman. By admonishing him singly, they have sent a message that anyone else who feels compelled to do the same will receive the same treatment of public humiliation. In that aspect, they purposely sought to diminish and curtail the speech of others. They have, very obviously, as I said, abridged his freedom of speech.

And quite frankly, your assumption that he was publicly admonished for being a classless redneck twit is more pathetic than the people who staged and supported this public lynching. How would you feel if you were publicly singled out by Congress and told to shut up or be taunted a second time for no other than reason than being an ignorant jerk? It’s because 240 Representatives put as much effort into making sure what they were doing was right as you did in supporting them that this happened in the first place.

Wilson was not arrested or imprisoned. He was merely admonished by his peers for being a classless redneck twit.
