Barbara Boxer wants to shoot the messenger. Really, really, badly.
OK, here’s the gist:
"You call it ‘Climategate’; I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate,’" she said during a committee meeting…… Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated.
Well, first of all, I would think that IF what Phil Jones insinuates in his email is true, a rather SERIOUS legal issue is involved. I mean, how much United States’ money has been spent based on the results of the IPCC? Stealing federal money through fraud and deception is a felony. Turning in a person committing a felony involving the federal government is protected under the Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989. She should know that. I doubt she cares tho.
But, for me, the beauty of all this is how is she going to go after reputedly a Russian hacking a British email account?
She also has more to say about the evidence being revealed than what the evidence might mean. I don’t think anyone on this planet cares how this email emerged. However, I’m gonna bet a lot of people want to know exactly what the email means.
And what’s really disturbing is she wants to prosecute the person who revealed the fraud but not the person who committed it.
