President Obama has told everyone that we need to quit harping about health insurance and focus on creating jobs. Everything he does, according to him, is about creating jobs. Health care reform will create jobs, the financial market reforms will create jobs, cap and trade will create jobs, card check will create jobs. He’s never said how, he just says it will and anyone opposing him doesn’t support creating jobs. Then we get statement like this literally in the same paragraph:
That was in response to the student loan takeover. Sallie Mae has been the largest student loan processor, but not the only one. Their immediate response to the takeover?
“This legislation will force Sallie Mae to reduce our 8,600-person workforce by 2,500,” Conwey Casillas, Vice President of Sallie Mae Public Affairs, said in a statement to Fox News.
Now, the bait for socializing yet another public sector industry is that more students will be able to get cheaper loans.
I don’t buy that for one second. Obama has repeatedly illustrated that he either does not understand basic banking principles, or more dangerously, doesn’t care or holds them in contempt.
In 1979 Freddie Mac was expanded to near unlimited capacity as a vehicle to make high-risk inner-city loans that the private sector would not touch with a ten foot stick. Less than three decades later Freddie Mac collapsed, nearly taking down the entire credit market in the United States with it. It wasn’t the private sector taking it down, it was a quasi-governmental agency/bank that made no efforts whatsoever to mitigate its risk. It made illogical practices simply to bolster its revenues. It perverted the entire mortgage industry by buying not only the high risk loans, but the perfectly normal ones as well leaving banks with inadequate reserves. When the Freddie/Fannie bubble burst, it took down banks all over the country within months. We’re still pretending we’re over that one. But we’re not.
So, what does Obama propose? Make student loans just like Freddie Mac. It’ll be a government program that won’t have to answer to logical lending practices, just like Freddie. People will get high-risk loans at too-cheap rates, for a while. At some point, and I’d imagine in the very near future, it will go bankrupt due to those illogical lending practices. Then, just like Freddie, the taxpayor will be stuck keeping it up.
In the meantime, the current largest lendor is laying off 2,500 existing jobs. That’s not a promise, that’s a reality. That’s ONE lendor. Multiply that all over the country and I’m sure the figure will wind up around 10,000 ( Sallie is about 23% of all loans ).
Then, of course, Obama will ask for another stimulus plan to get those people jobs working for the government.
That folks is socialism. Obama has flat out stated he’s not working for banks. He’s working for himself. He’s working to eliminate the private sector and then everyone will be unionized and subservient to the federal government of which he’s the boss.
Disgusting.

Today two women blew themselves up in a subway in Moscow. They killed 37 unsuspecting innocent people who had nothing to do with their gripes.
Wanna guess what their motivation was? Their religion?
So, of course, the FBI raids a Chrisitan militia in Michigan. No one is sure why at this point.
Somehow I just don’t feel any safer.

Health Insurance reform passed the House this evening. That’s late Sunday night for those not in the Eastern Time Zone. I’m not going to belabor how horrid this thing is. I just ask people to do one thing. Make a note right now of what benefits you have and how much you’re paying to get it. If you don’t have any, make a note of that as well.
I’d really appreciate those who put a comment on here with that.
Depending on whether or not this thing survives, health care insurance in the United States is dead as we know it.
Obama wants to create jobs, here’s another suggestion:
SPREAD THE WEALTH
Now, that alone should appeal to Obama. But, as with all ideological one-liners, it needs some substance to it. “Change” sounded great, but people are realizing now without specifics, whether ignored or not mentioned, it doesn’t do anyone much good. With spreading the wealth, I’m not talking some socialist manifesto, I’m talking we need to bust up the federal clique that is Washington, DC. There’s no point in every single federal ideology coming froma group of people who all think exactly alike because they bounce ideas off each other. Spread it out. Put different agencies in different parts of the country. Spread the wealth. The Feds have tried everything in the world to promote economic development in Appalachia EXCEPT hiring people. Subsidies, entitlements, welfare, all that has done is develope a co-dependent society. Create jobs. Make them work, and they will. Any large enough agency will create other jobs as well. You’ll have to feed these people, provide them with office supplies, housing, etc.. And here’s the big kicker, they won’t have to pay thousands of dollars a month for rent. In Eastern Kentucky, they can live there for hundreds. Bottom line, you won’t NEED to pay people six figure salaries to do the same jobs. $50,000 in Harlan, Kentucky is a good job. If whoever’s doing it in DC doesn’t like the pay scale, someone here will be more than happy, and probably just as capable, of doing the same job. And I’m gonna bet doing the same thing in urban blights will help as much there too.
When it’s all said and done, I bet that one simple trick will stimulate economic development in all kinds of depressed areas, and save the taxpayers billions every single year in reduced salaries.
Use some of that to pay for Obamacare.
Now, you think that’s no big deal? Check again: ( Due to the sheer size of the list, there will be errata. It’s the point, not the detail. )

Obama’s turning the rhetoric up a notch.
“Your employer, it’s estimated, would see premiums fall by as much as 3,000 percent,” said the president, “which means they could give you a raise.”
A White House press spokesman later said the president misspoke; he had meant to say annual premiums would drop by $3,000.
The number, $3,000, not 3,000 percent, came from a think-tank in November. Business Roundtable looked at various scenarios that might occur and one of those scenarios would save employers $3,000. However, anyone who’s been following this topic knows that no legislation actually passed in November. So, the legislation actually passed is not the scenario the Business Roundtable was looking at.
In simple terms, Obama’s lying.
Whether he knows it or not is the only question since those numbers have never been verified by anyone based on the legislation he’s now pushing, and are several months old.
I’ve decided rather than bitching and moaning about Obamacare passing or not, which inevitably it won’t, and if it does, won’t do squat to fix anything, I’m gonna take the high road and fix it all myself. If anyone listens, the simplicity will amaze you.
First of all, a lot of problems have festered since 1993 or so as a lot of health provision and oversight was dumped on the states, with little to no adequate funding. If the states had a huge boost in revenues, it would help more than anything Obamacare is suggesting. Here’s one suggestion. Get serious with these people:

In all, that breaks down to about $88,333,725. OK, let’s do some quick math using $88 million. At let’s say, $500 a person, that would cover about 14,722 people for a year. That’s just delinquent taxes in California. Or, for starters, those doctors who owe could just work it off for free at clinics.
Just an idea, kinda simple huh? Don’t need any legislation for that either.
Looks like I’m going to have to give Obama an assist. We’ve had TARP, we’ve had job creation legislation, and we’ve still got unemployment at really bad levels. So, just send you’re economic advisors here and I’ll fix that pesky unemployment problem. We’ll take it day by day, but I think after a few stabs at this you’ll figure my system out and be able to run with it.
First of all, the headline:
And here’s the sage economic advice: If a contract is let using federal dollars, put a requirement in there that some percentage of it be manufactured in the US.
I’m sure the insight has someone in DC stunned. Simply requiring a domestic corporation submit a bid is amazingly naive. $5.4 million of silverware I imagine would keep some local peeps busy for a while. The key word here being local. Local peeps pay US taxes, Swedes don’t.
But what really bugs me is a huge percentage of federal money went to the Clunker program which was in large degree Japanese. Now, some stimulus money is going to Sweden for no other reason than some petty preference. This is why so many people know that the stimulus is a farce. Our economy is too big to need a push. What it needs more than anything is to quit having to complete with its federal government propping up foreign competition while taxing the hell out of them.
Well, actually, that was going to be tomorrow’s lesson.
Seriously:
It just amazes me that all these people are fighting over whether to pass this health care reform and no one, including Nancy Pelosi, has any clue what’s in it. But, regardless of the fact no one knows what this thing will do, or not do, Obama has staked his presidency on it at this point. Even though he’s about 800% off on the numbers his own people are giving him, it will balance the budget now too.
So, if you want to balance the budget, pass the health care legislation and no one dies. Then we’ll figure out what it does once we don’t have to worry about debts and no one ever dies, which of course means we would no longer even need health care insurance.
Simple huh?
And yeah, I know this clip is taken out of context. The rest of the context is even more confusing than this simple blurb. It’s fun to watch, but too much for this simple post.
