Obama wants to create jobs, here’s another suggestion:
SPREAD THE WEALTH
Now, that alone should appeal to Obama. But, as with all ideological one-liners, it needs some substance to it. “Change” sounded great, but people are realizing now without specifics, whether ignored or not mentioned, it doesn’t do anyone much good. With spreading the wealth, I’m not talking some socialist manifesto, I’m talking we need to bust up the federal clique that is Washington, DC. There’s no point in every single federal ideology coming froma group of people who all think exactly alike because they bounce ideas off each other. Spread it out. Put different agencies in different parts of the country. Spread the wealth. The Feds have tried everything in the world to promote economic development in Appalachia EXCEPT hiring people. Subsidies, entitlements, welfare, all that has done is develope a co-dependent society. Create jobs. Make them work, and they will. Any large enough agency will create other jobs as well. You’ll have to feed these people, provide them with office supplies, housing, etc.. And here’s the big kicker, they won’t have to pay thousands of dollars a month for rent. In Eastern Kentucky, they can live there for hundreds. Bottom line, you won’t NEED to pay people six figure salaries to do the same jobs. $50,000 in Harlan, Kentucky is a good job. If whoever’s doing it in DC doesn’t like the pay scale, someone here will be more than happy, and probably just as capable, of doing the same job. And I’m gonna bet doing the same thing in urban blights will help as much there too.
When it’s all said and done, I bet that one simple trick will stimulate economic development in all kinds of depressed areas, and save the taxpayers billions every single year in reduced salaries.
Use some of that to pay for Obamacare.
