That hopey changey thing, debt ceiling edition

Once again, I can agree with President Obama on something:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

But, that was candidate Obama, pandering to the masses against a Republican president.  NOW, we got President Obama, pandering to his socialist base:

”They can act responsibly, and pay America’s bills or they can act irresponsibly, and put America through another economic crisis,” he said. “But they will not collect a ransom in exchange for not crashing the American economy.”

Hell, that’s not even good enough, six Democrats have sponsored an actual bill to completely eliminate the debt ceiling.  Just get rid of it.  By not submitting budgets and not having to worry about running out of money, it eliminates the politics of the the process.  Brilliant huh?  I mean, why even bother, just send a million bucks to every single person in the US and poverty is solved.  Simple huh?  If you don’t think so, contact these idiots and let them know:

  • Jarrod Nadler, Democrat, New York
  • Hank Johnson, Democrat, Georgia ( yes, that is THE Hank Johnson )
  • Jim Moran, Democrat, Virginia
  • Jan Shakowsky, Democrat, Illinois
  • Keith Ellison, Democrat, Minnesota
  • Peter Welch, Democrat, Vermont

( Gotta love Obama’s symbolism too.  The same day he proposes bypassing Congress and making stiffer gun control laws, he accuses Republicans of holding a gun to America’s head. )
