Nancy Pelosi on bipartisanship

Posted by Moonage on 28 Oct 2008 | Tagged as: Idiot of the day

Realizing that her very public message that Democrats never had anything to do with the finance meltdown regardless of the fact their legislation and policies OBVIOUSLY caused it to the point even Bill Clinton personally accepted some blame, Nancy’s got a new gig:
“Elect us, hold us accountable, and make a judgment and then go from [...]

Nancy Pelosi delivers the worst, speech, ever

The gall and stupidity of Nancy Pelosi never ceases to amaze me.  Today, with arguably the economic welfare of the United States on the line, and for that matter, several other countries of the world, Nancy Pelosi assured the world an agreement to bail out the struggling spec market was at hand.  She’d have it [...]

Leading during a time of crisis

Joe Biden, the forgotten step-son of the Obama/Biden campaign, was highly critical of our fearless commander in chief over his handling of the finance market crisis.  He had this to say:
“When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what [...]

Nancy Pelosi and the Dow Jones Industrial Average

Posted by Moonage on 16 Sep 2008 | Tagged as: Idiot of the day

First, look at these two graphs:

That’s what the Dow Jones Industrial Averages did under Bush, before Pelosi took over Congress.

That’s what the Dow Jones Industrial Average has done SINCE Pelosi took over Congress.
Now, read this:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, when asked Tuesday whether Democrats bear some of the responsibility regarding the current crisis on Wall Street, [...]

Russell and Obama

Posted by Moonage on 09 Sep 2008 | Tagged as: 2008 Presidential Race, Idiot of the day

Russell Brand, the British comedian who I honestly had never heard of, had some things to say during the Video Music Awards, which I never watch.  First, he attacked the Jonas Brothers for advocating no sex before marriage:

Now, I’m sure that sat real well with the religious crowd in the US.
He then attacked our President [...]

Unemployment jumps to five year high ( I told ya so! )

Almost two years ago, I warned Nancy Pelosi what would happen if they jerked around with the minimum wage without adjusting other funding to account for it.  She’s a stubborn old bag and didn’t listen.  They promptly crammed it through Congress.
July 1, minimum wage went up 70 cents.  That’s about a 13% increase.
One month later, [...]

Come fight with me ( or how to screw the anarchists )

Thursday night John McCain gave a rousing speech, finishing it off with a call to fight.  His urge was barely audible over the wildly cheering crowd:

Apparently excited that they finally had a candidate that felt their pain, several hundred anarchists promptly got arrested chanting “F**k the police!”.
OK, hands up here, how many people ever thought [...]

What happens when you combine politics, Michael Moore, Keith Olbermann, and a deadly hurricane

Posted by Moonage on 31 Aug 2008 | Tagged as: 2008 Presidential Race, Idiot of the day

Does anyone really need to guess?
“I was just thinking, this Gustav is proof that there is a God in heaven,” Moore said. “To just have it planned at the same time, that it (hurricane Gustav) would actually be on its way to New Orleans for Day One of the Republican convention, up in the Twin [...]

Minimum Wage goes up 70 cents today

Posted by Moonage on 24 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Fed Policy, Idiot of the day, National Politics

That’s the headline on CNN.  The headline NOT on CNN is:
Unable to pay bills, London, Ky. YMCA closes
And, the reason they decided to give up?
Director Don Burgin said the London-Laurel County “Y” struggled with $6,000 monthly utility bills and its budget was further stretched by an increase in the minimum wage.
And of course, who do [...]

It’s raining stupid people in DC - Eleanor Holmes Norton

Posted by Moonage on 17 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Idiot of the day, National Politics

Fresh on the heals of Keith Ellison defying all logic and facts and coming to the conclusion if people had more money they wouldn’t be broke, Eleanor Holmes Norton has dropped this bit of wisdom on us as well:
The District has passed new gun legislation consistent with the recent Supreme Court decision overturning the city’s [...]
