The root of a cause…. Wall-E

Here’s the story:
Overweight viewers are protesting the film’s depiction of a world ruined by “doughy and lazy folk who drink liquid cupcakes and can’t even really walk.”
In the film, which was fourth at the box office this weekend, Earth has been turned into a trash dump due to the Buy N Large corporation. Humans evacuated [...]

Are all liberal talk show peeps stupid?

Now, I don’t believe that to be necessarily true, I just can’t find one I think is terribly smart.  Today’s example is Thom Hartmann.  In 2005, he tried convincing people that Jimmy Carter tried to prevent the Bush Energy Disasters - 28 years ago.  Now, the reason he states this is because Jimmy gave a [...]

Suspend PETA and keep racing

Posted by Moonage on 06 May 2008 | Tagged as: Opinions, Shock and Awe

In their usual callous and unsympathetic way, PETA has had to chime in on the death of Eight Belles.  Now, a couple of their arguments make sense, like using softer tracks.  But, in their usual way, they completely defy reality in order to make their argument:

In blaming the track surface - nothing is softer than [...]

This email is making the rounds.  It’s fairly accurate, but not totally:
We need to buy AMERICAN for a change.  Please read this.  Thanks.

WHERE TO BUY YOUR USA-GAS, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KNOW . READ ON–
Gas rationing in the 80’s worked even though we grumbled about it.  It might even be good for us!

Fixing Social Security

Posted by Moonage on 22 Jan 2008 | Tagged as: Opinions, Shock and Awe, Social Sciences, Supporting the Death Penalty

I have the Social Security issue all figured out ( again ).  It doesn’t require cutting back benefits or raising taxes.  It’s simple too.
Just expand the death penalty to include crimes that result in abuse or death.  That category would include molesters, drug dealers, and “insane” murderers.  Make it a lot simpler to enforce if [...]

Help sue the Westboro Church

Posted by Moonage on 27 Oct 2007 | Tagged as: Opinions, People

I have written a few times about Westboro Church.  They are disgusting and abusing religion in the worst possible way.  Well, one father of a slain soldier has had enough.  Albert Snyder, father of Matthew Snyder, is suing Westboro for disrupting his son’s funeral.  I am 100% in support of Albert’s lawsuit.  However, he’s an [...]

Kathy Griffin’s Emmy speech

Posted by Moonage on 11 Sep 2007 | Tagged as: Idiot of the day, Media, Opinions, Shock and Awe, The Media

Kathy Griffin won an Emmy for making people laugh.  Well some people anyway, I don’t have a clue who she is.  However, she felt compelled to undo that laughter with her acceptance speech:
“A lot of people come up here and thank Jesus for this. He had nothing to do with this,” Griffin said. “Suck it, [...]

Kevin Rudd’s big night out

Posted by Moonage on 19 Aug 2007 | Tagged as: Opinions

Kevin Rudd is a very popular politician in Australia.  He has run on conervative Christian values and has done quite well using that platform.  That platform has been quite used in the US for about 25 years or so, but is still fairly unusual in Australia.  So, people in Australia are having quite a time [...]

Kevin Sullivan mulling from the middle

Posted by Moonage on 11 Jun 2007 | Tagged as: Opinions

Spent a little bit of the last hour or so mulling over someone mulling from the middle. In this case, it’s Kevin Sullivan. In this case, he really does seem to live in the middle. I REALLY like what he’s got to say and will be keeping an eye on his stuff.

Technorati [...]

How corrupt is Congress?

Posted by Moonage on 11 Jun 2007 | Tagged as: 527's, Opinions

I read an excellent comment on Outside the Beltway. I’d like to just post the whole thing here, but that’s discouraged. So, I’ll just lift the best part:
Perhaps naively, I still believe genuine corruption among Congressmen and other major officials in American politics is an aberration rather than routine. The people who aspire [...]
