Palin expands character attacks?

Posted by Moonage on 06 Oct 2008 | Tagged as: 2008 Presidential Race, The Media

Been out of action for a few days.  Decided to take a mini-vacation.  Came back to this side-splitting “headline”:
Palin expands character attacks
Her “character attacks” are mentioning people Obama has hung out with that just don’t look so good now that he’s running for president.
In my world, a “character attack” is attacking one’s character.  You know, [...]

McCainibal

Now, Hollywood has a long history of pretty much hating all things Republican.  They usually don’t know why, and they usually get their facts screwed up, or in some cases, just make stuff up.  However, they come to their conclusion isn’t important.  If in Hollywood, or the media in most cases, you HAVE to hate [...]

Who do you trust?

Posted by Moonage on 22 Jan 2008 | Tagged as: Media

I find this kind of ironic:

The study by Sacred Heart University Polling Institute found 45.4 percent of the respondents think journalists and broadcasters are mostly or somewhat liberal. Just 15.7 percent think they are conservative……
And, as far as which outlet is “most trusted?” FOX News led the way with 27 percent, CNN at 14.6 percent; [...]

MSNBC just can’t help itself

Posted by Moonage on 26 Nov 2007 | Tagged as: Media

Some people think Keith Olbermann has a mind of his own.  Others like me just know he knows how to draw a paycheck.  His employer is MSNBC, here’s what they consider content:
On every front — domestic and international, public and private — the drive toward a low-carbon energy future is accelerating, leaving Washington, and particularly [...]

Kentucky rejects change

Posted by Moonage on 07 Nov 2007 | Tagged as: Media, National Politics

We had an election last night here in Kentucky.  This is how MSNBC interpreted it:
Cyclist Lance Armstrong and Kentucky’s new governor were among the few people who could get voters to embrace change on a day they seemed inclined to re-elect incumbents and reject ballot measures calling for new proposals.
I tired long ago of pointing [...]

Jobless Claims Leap to Highest Level in 4 Months!

Posted by Moonage on 04 Oct 2007 | Tagged as: The Media

That’s the headline.  Here’s the fact:

And people wonder why we’re a polarized nation.  If people realized the true shape this nation’s in, there would be very little to be polarized about.  Of course, most media would be bankrupt.
I can live with that.

They need dirty laundry……

Posted by Moonage on 06 Aug 2007 | Tagged as: The Media

Don Henley summed up the media industry perfectly a long time ago with Dirty Laundry:
I make my living off the evening news
Just give me something-something I can use
People love it when you lose, they love dirty laundry
Case in point, Friday the Dow lost 281 points. It was all over the media. No one [...]

Valerie Plame’s suit dismissed

This just in ( sorta ):

Plame’s Suit Against Top Officials Dismissed

U.S. District Judge John D. Bates said that Cheney and the others could not be held liable for the disclosures in the summer of 2003 in the midst of a White House effort to rebut criticism of the Iraq war by her husband, former [...]

Keith Olbermann melts down again

Posted by Moonage on 05 Jul 2007 | Tagged as: The Media

I subscribe to most major news feeds. I do it because some media like to report some things, others will report other things. It’s just the nature of the beast of trying to stay somewhat informed. Because of this, I subscribe to MSNBC. They’re really good at getting the garbage news [...]

Media putting money where their mouth is

Posted by Moonage on 21 Jun 2007 | Tagged as: Ethics, Fun with Numbers, Media, National Politics, The Media

A lot of people feel media in general is horribly biased towards Democrats and liberal politics. Other people think it’s a conspiracy theory. MSNBC kinda puts it all in perspective in a very simple way I had never even thought of doing. They looked at where journalists give their money. Now, [...]
