Harry Reid is clueless

Posted by Moonage on 22 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: 2008 Presidential Race, Oil Policy

Apparently smarting from polls that put his Senate leadership in the single digits, Harry Reid decided to fight back starting with this letter to The Hill Blog:
When our country is in crisis, Congress must be ready to take immediate action. Democrats in Congress have tried to take action again and again. We have proposed both [...]

Via See-Dubya at Michelle Malkin’s blog, with an assist from Gasbuddy:

Apparently Nancy is finally starting to feel the heat.  So, she came up with the ultimate solution her feable mind could produce:

July 8, 2008
The Honorable George W. Bush
The President of the United States
The White House

The politics of the energy crisis

Posted by Moonage on 05 Jul 2008 | Tagged as: Energy Policy, Political Correctness

The jam we’re in right now was put in place thirty years ago.  In that time, we’ve gone from being an energy exporter to an energy junkie.  It really doesn’t matter where we get our hit, so long as we don’t have to accept any responsibility for it.  For instance:

Oil - The Democrats absolutely refuse [...]

McCain’s energy policy rocks

I LOVE this!
The Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting is proposing a $300 million government prize to whomever can develop an automobile battery that far surpasses existing technology.
The bounty would equate to $1 for every man, woman and child in the country, “a small price to pay for helping to break the back of our oil dependency,” McCain [...]

Saudi Arabia increasing production

Posted by Moonage on 15 Jun 2008 | Tagged as: Oil Policy, Oil Supply

Saudi Arabia has announced it’s increasing production by 200,000 barrels a day.  There are some thoughts I have about the article.

“Saudi Arabia is concerned that sustained high oil prices will eventually slacken the world’s appetite for oil, affecting the kingdom in the long run.”  I wonder what gave them that idea?  Could it have been [...]

That pesky “Bush is beholden to oil” thing

Posted by Moonage on 12 May 2008 | Tagged as: Oil Policy, Oil Supply, Political Correctness

It’s making the rounds again as the Dems warm up for the fall.  Obama’s already testing it.  Clinton has worn it out already.  Several have already blamed the price of gas on Bush, and most have offered their solutions to the Bush problem.  When you listen to them make those arguments, remember one thing:

That’s the [...]

Hillary’s foreign oil strategy?

Posted by Moonage on 06 May 2008 | Tagged as: 2008 Presidential Race, Oil Policy, Oil Supply

This folks, is nuts:
“We’re going to go right at OPEC,” Clinton said, on a last-minute campaign swing ahead of Tuesday’s Indiana and North Carolina primary clashes against her Democratic rival Barack Obama.
“They can no longer be a cartel, a monopoly that get together once every couple of months in some conference room in some plush [...]

The Democrat solutions to high fuel prices

Posted by Moonage on 29 Apr 2008 | Tagged as: Energy Policy

We’ve already seen what Nancy Pelosi has done for rocketing energy prices, she’s made it worse.  Now, we’ve got Harry Reid tackling the issue since it’s obvious Nancy’s ideas just make things worse.
Another item under consideration for Reid’s bill is a demand that the Bush administration put pressure on Saudi Arabia and other OPEC-member nations [...]

This email is making the rounds.  It’s fairly accurate, but not totally:
